‘BRIDGING HUMANITY TO DIVINITY, THE RECONNECT!’
A sermon by Bishop Carlton D. Pearson
The sermon was delivered on Sunday, December 11, 2016, at All
Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Is God for you? Is there a possibility that God might not be for You? Do you still want to “Be Good”, “Do Good” because it feels “Good”?
What if the inner feeling we have when we do “Good” is just about as close as it gets to that universal humanitarian; some may seek, just as much as some worship, a divine power. Because that divine power may not be a big Avatar in the sky but within each of us, can the word Good and God be interchanged?
Is it possible that we all have a bridge between the belief of the existence of a divine power and the existence of humanitarian? Does the possibility of a bridge existence in our lifetime question the pressure we may feel to take a stand and label ourselves according to spirituality of the moment? By not limit our ability to understand who we truly are and our true power or reality?
Is this contradictory to labeling ourselves “believers” or ” “Humanist” or
“atheist”?
